Advanced Rubber Powered Models
The GYMINNIE CRICKET is a 38 cm wingspan, rubber powered model and as its name implies is designed to fly in a gymnasium or school hall. It should only be flown outside on a very calm dry day.
The GYMINNIE CRICKET requires a little more skill to build than the BMFA DART but should give double the
performance. It is important that if a model has not been built before a DART should be built and flown before attempting a GYMINNIE CRICKET.
Part No. K003 £2.50p each, £2.30p each for TEN or more.
The BMFA FROG is a 51 cm
wingspan model fitted with an
undercarriage so it can take off from a smooth surface. The kit includes some print wood to teach the builder how to cut out parts from sheet. It is recommended as a follow on from the GYMINNIE CRICKET.
Part No. K004 £4.80p each, £4.60p each for TEN or more.
It is strongly recommended that a geared winder be used for winding up the rubber motors of these models and also the models on page 12. WINDERS can be found in the Tools section.
PUSSYCAT is a 33cm (13”) wingspan High Wing Cabin
Rubber Powered Free Flight Monoplane designed by Dick Baxter an employee of McDonnell Douglas Space Systems in America. It was
specially designed for Aerospace classes in a middle school. The skills required to make this model make it a good follow on from the GYMINNIE CRICKET and the BMFA FROG. The model can be made with the option of a tricycle undercarriage or a two wheeled undercarriage or none at all.
Part No. K021 £6.00 each
